Last night I took the 90-cent tour of outer Arlington. Might have been nicer if it was light out. I confused the bus driver with a question of just how far the tour went (the route starts at Alewife, then goes through a loop, so I wanted to get off in some sonce past "the end"). Didn't help me understand how things out there are or aren't connected. The little kids behind me were really fascinated with Christmas lights, though.

Was it the 67 by chance?

It goes through a lot of residential areas, so not terribly good for getting one's bearings, no.

Ah, that's because our old street didn't end, it was just, um, interrupted. It
continues with the same name on the other side. A couple other streets there have
the same problem.

But yeah, I've walked a bunch back there and it's all residential over the hill
down to Rt 3, except the Winchester Country Club, which is mostly in Arlington,
despite the name.

The furthest point out in that loop is about where the bus takes a left from
Washington (though I think Washington becomes something else at that point)
to Forest. At that point you are just a hop, skip, and a jump from Winchester.
