This is the third or fourth reference to Katamari Damancy that I've seen this week. Did the sequel just come out, or has it just seen a resurgence in popularity?

The sequel (We ♥ Katamari) came out a few weeks ago.

I have yet to play it. But that's what reading period and finals week are for.

The sequel just came out a couple of weeks ago, and so people were playing it. Last night lokiect and ilai brought it over to our place and people were playing it. The cooperative mode is neat, and a couple of the levels are interesting, but in the end it feels like they gave a pretty innovative product to a real game development team, and I think the end result isn't as good (based on a couple of hours of play).

I actually am finding I have less interest in replaying Katamari Damacy levels than We <3 Katamari levels. I think We <3 Katamari is pretty awesome.

I agree, I have found we *heart* katamari to have a lot more replay value, as it at least feels like it has a greater variety of levels.
