Slow weekend
Oct. 19th, 2003 09:46 pmI spent all day Saturday sitting around playing Morrowind. Which, while it's neat that I'm getting through the plot fairly quickly, is pretty lame. I discovered that my pasta sauce hadn't quite gone bad yet, which was good. But there was no cider for me, and I didn't go to the ET thingy either. Other things I didn't do included taking the commuter rail out to Leominster State Forest south of Fitchburg to bike and taking the Amtrak Downeaster for a day trip to Portland. There had been talk earlier in the week of a leaf peeping trip which also failed to happen.
I was a little more together today; went to
obra's dim sum mob, which went well, acquired some wearable warmth, and then went to a housewarming party. This shockingly also quickly decayed into rampant game-playing. I had a horrid game of Res Publica ("wanna buy a Goth?"), where people just weren't cooperating in trading things, and I wound up with half of the last set of Goths and getting bitter with it. The interesting thing that some of the Old Assassins brought over was Diceland: Space, a Cheapass Game that involves throwing stylized d8's on to a table, where each "die" represents a spaceship and its power is determined by the side facing up. It was actually kind of fun, even though I don't usually go for physical-based games.
