My group's side project dealing with Web searching in developing countries showed up on the BBC News's "Technology" page.

UPDATE: now on Slashdot as well. A lot of uninsightful comments -- if you need to ask, "how does this help me behind my always-on reliable high-speed cable modem", you're not in the target audience, not even a little.
I started up my laptop here and tried to start zephyr. I discovered that my .local.vtc file was a symlink to vpc+lkcal*vpc, not vtc/local.vtc as I expected. Playing with Perl reveals that the symptom is "bit 2 of each 16-bit word is cleared". Oops. In good news, this probably means that when my laptop eats itself, 15 out of 16 bits on the hard drive are still good!
