The Class Question
Apr. 7th, 2003 08:02 pmI get to take one class a term, and I've been taking advantage of this. This term I'm taking 6.341, a class on digital signal processing. But taking classes has consequences like this week: I had a problem set due last Thursday, and another due this Friday, with an exam tomorrow and a lab due on Thursday. It'd be kind of neat to be able to do something evenings this week, but it's just not going to happen.
There's only one other class at MIT that I'm psyched to take, which is 6.821, "Programming Languages"; the class covers some of the theory and technique in compiling functional languages. I've seen a lot of the material before, and the last time I thought of taking it I decided I wouldn't learn anything. I expect this fall really will be my last chance to take it, but it'd also be kind of nice to take advantage of this luxury of not actually being a student.
I still have a couple of months to figure this out. But since I'm hosed this week, it's on my mind. Is it really worth it?
