I had what felt like three flat tires in a row (the last two were within one riding-day of getting the previous flat fixed). Not on the repair stand, but I was wondering how I had such a high affinity for shards of glass...
Sometimes you get something stuck in the tire or the rim, and it's worth double-checking. One ride last summer belmonte had a flat one week and a slow leak the next, and when we stopped for lunch he took his tire apart and finally found a tiny sliver of metal on the inside of the tire.
Of course, when your failure modes are (a) the valve explodes and (b) you failed to put the tire on completely before pumping it up and so there's a six-inch gash in the tube where it got caught between the rim and the tire, you're not really on the lookout for anything that subtle.
