Snow, long weekend, preliminary plans involving

I've been thinking:

(1) There's actual snow on the ground. Also, it's been cold such that magic snow-producing technology probably works. Also, there's this train. Any interest in trying the commuter-rail-to-Wachussett plan sometime this weekend, for marginal skiing within my fading capabilities?

(2) It's a three-day weekend, even for me. Any interest in taking one of those days for a board game of some sort? (1856, Advanced Civilization, other 8+-hour things; Die Macher, other weighty 4+-hour things?)

#2 -- I could do a game on Sunday, probably. (I'd have to make sure my mom could cover evening childcare, since DH has a meeting.)

Hmm, whereas I could do Sat more easily; Sunday we have plans at 4PM which would be bang in mid-game. But would love 18xx if it weren't 56 (OK, I admit it, I'm not that enthused about the CP). Die Macher Andrea would probably play too if it weren't Sunday afternoon (when I think she's doing things to sets).

Arr, conflicting requirements! I do have two contiguous units of 1825 ("the kinder, gentler 18xx") which should get played together at some point. The short blurb on Pericles also sounded kinda interesting.

Oh, yeah, and if skiing happens on Sat instead, that'd be nifty. But I'm not so sure about the take-the-train thing...
