Geotags ho!

I put classic geotags on all of my flickr photos (such as they are). I also integrated that into my bike trip page, so on recent trips where I took a couple of pictures they show up on the map. (If you want to see where exactly the apple monument is, it's the one photo on this trip.)
obra mentioned to me that flickr had added some sort of new geotagging service. I did play with it a little this morning. It's a totally separate set of metadata from the tags, that doesn't seem to be reported via its SOAP/REST API yet, so my Python script to collect up the pictures can't see it. Also, there's a one-time "import from classic geotags" option, but you don't get to re-run it if you, say, blow away all of your existing locations, and there doesn't seem to be a way to actually input latitude/longitude for a photo if you know it (maybe by correlating a photo timestamp with a GPS track) or adding new pictures with geo:lat/geo:lon tags.
