Every train we passed seemed to be either coal, intermodal, or mixed freight. No unit automobile trains or anything like that.

In Indiana, parked CSX trains labelled "Coke Express". Of the coal variety, not the soda variety.

Truck trailers with registration mark "TIPZ". Just the thing you want to put in your intermodal train for, erm, extra stability.

In West Springfield, cars carrying what must have been radioactive waste. "Do not hump."

Highest point on the CSX main line between Boston and New York State (Selkirk, if you're a freight train, Albany otherwise) is 1490 feet high, somewhere east of Pittsfield. There's a sign if you're watching for it.
