Motivation

I'm finding motivation for various things to be oddly lacking most, but clearly not all of the time. I'm not clear what this is tied to. Motivation for work is mostly gone most of the time, but yesterday, in spite of having gotten almost no sleep the night before, I was suddenly motivated to tackle one of the major things on my work list. I got maybe 2/3 of the way through it, and now today, I don't want to do it any more. Debian stuff is much the same way: I have one package that people actually use, but it's kind of broken, and fixing it involves actually spending time working on watertown, which is Effort.

Figuring out what to do about all of this is tricky. I don't want to actually think about looking at jobs until after we finish this release, so not for another week. As far as Debian goes, there's something to be said for punting things that just don't excite me any more, but if I punt Debian entirely that leaves the set of things I'm doing as "dinner mobs", "ET alumni stuff", and "very occasional gaming mobs". This feels lame. (Maybe it's my upbringing.) Maybe it's not so bad.
