Jul. 15th, 2005 10:25 amMade baked Alaska for dessert last night. It came out well; I did a better job of getting the meringue everywhere this time. The recipe in the middle Joy of Cooking was a little odd in that I think of baked Alaska as canonically having a brownie base, and we had some issues getting cake parts out of their pans, but it worked. Five people were enough to get through most of it, so somebody gets a hunk of ice cream with some cold cake and meringue left on it for dessert still.
