ET Halloween, again
Nov. 1st, 2004 06:06 am<lurk>Oh, that's who that girl who showed up around 10:00 in the blue dress was...</lurk>
After almost deciding not to last year, made an appearance at the ET Halloween party again. It was okay, I'm vaguely glad I showed up, my pledge class had a "theme" with "costumes"; it was less lame than
ilai's, but still, at dinner last night, it was mentioned that the only reason people had any reason to guess we had dressed up at all was because I was in a bathrobe, and
76trombones, for example, looked like herself reading a Tech Review (that was actually the "costume").
Still, the problem with ET parties is that I've never lived with any of the current undergraduates, and have never met most of the friends-of-the-house. So if a third of Random descends on the party, that's a group consisting of either people I can identify but have never met (e.g.,
rivenwanderer) or people that most of the undergrads know but I've never seen before in my life.
I didn't really feel up for playing the costume theme game. They did announcements of the pledge class themes around 10:30, which was early enough to wait for, and some of the themes actually were pretty clever. We were the oldest class to have a theme, though there were two more alums older than us (including a cute Jason Varitek Catcher in the Rye).
Maybe next year I'll decide I'm too old. Or maybe next year I'll try to do a more proper costume. We'll see.
