Font geekery

white-magic provided a pointer to an article on the Arial font, its history, and how it's different from Helvetica proper. If you know what you're looking for, it actually is pretty obvious, especially at larger font sizes or with antialiasing enabled. I think this makes me even more sad than the TrueType thing as a whole does.
