9:30 AM: noticed downstairs toilet was in always-flush mode. Debugged, determined that the problem was that the flap at the bottom of the tank wasn't sealing. Used plunger to disable filling mechanism, called landlord.

10:00 AM: landlord appears and starts poking at toilet. Reaches same conclusion. Goes downstairs to fetch a "new" flap, but after some playing determines that doesn't seal either. Shuts off water to the toilet and decides to replace the internal mechanism entirely, makes noises about wanting to do the same thing to the upstairs toilet.
It's impressive how much of my mail normally comes via Debian, in between the few quite busy lists I'm on (debian-devel and debian-user, plus a couple of others) and the volume of spam this adds. Which means that my mail is actually very quiet this weekend. I don't think I would have noticed if it hadn't gone away.
