Mmm, bikealicious
Yesterday was a beautiful day. When I got home, I decided to look at my bike and fix up everything wrong with it. This involved lubricating the chain, cleaning some of the gunk off of the gears, and tweaking the derailleurs. I think the rear derailleur is now adjusted as far as it'll go, but it's almost in the right place; shifting into the highest gear is a little bumpy. I also figured out how to adjust the front derailleur to have the right limits and not rub against the chain when not shifting. (Is it me, or is one of each pair of limit screws completely useless on an indexed shifter?)
I rode around a bit on what to me is the near face of Winter Hill, and answered the mystery of Hicks Avenue. It really was nice out, and having the one higher gear was useful. And then today looked to be nice as well, so I took my bike-stuff backpack and rode to work. I think my immediate goal is to be able to make it up small hills without dying; riding back and forth between home and the Star on Broadway would be very effective practice.
