Headed home
After two weeks in California and elsewhere, it's time to go back to Boston. I did get to see people yesterday, which is good, and we played Puerto Rico and the American Cities and Knights (a very close game, proving that Staedte und Ritter offers good ways to win that aren't "build cities and settlements"). San Jose wasn't structurally that different from the way I remember it; they're finally building the missing ramps at the 85-87 interchange, and building 87 as freeway past the airport. Almaden Valley is a little more filled in but not really substantially different.
I only felt like a horrible screw-up once on the trip, which is good; the upshot is that I should probably deal with the wedding in July (return the invitation, buy a present) and get clothes (workish shirts without holes, a new suit). I should make up my mind about the wedding in August, too. And cook more. And have people over more often. And possibly call my non-parent relatives more often.
