I think this ride was probably worth doing for the scenery alone. Like most other supported rides, there were shorter (I think 25/50/62 mile) options; I think the 62 turnoff was just short of crossing the Merrimack River. Plus, the shorter rides started an hour and a half later, so you got to sleep more and experience less rain.
