I think what I have out of Specialized's catalog is a shinier version of their entry-level road bike, if that makes sense. The very short description from Specialized's list of road bikes is "recreational endurance road" which does actually match my use case pretty well. I also think it's possible to put a rack on my bike (though not 100% sure).
So if I'm going to be carrying this amount of stuff either way, will a rack weigh as much as the entire rest of my bike? Or is this just Something You Don't Do?
